Absolvement Sins Tier List
Which burdens help learning—and which delete your life economy.
A Sin in Absolvement is not flavor text. It is a branded weakness that changes how expensive every mistake becomes. This tier list ranks Sins for Roblox alpha / early access with a bias toward characters that can actually finish a learning loop into the Soul Tree.
Hard beginner calls
Theft — strong starter. Community beginner guides repeatedly land on Theft (and sometimes Pride) as manageable early burdens. Theft pressure teaches caution without instantly deleting the three-life contract. Default here unless you have a specific advanced plan.
Pseudoprophecy — avoid. Treat it as a trap Sin for new and mid players. The effective life economy collapses toward a one-life experience, which turns every mistimed parry into a full wipe. It is a challenge mode, not a tutorial.
Use the Sin Advisor before you “just try” a cruel Sin on a fresh slot.
Tier reading guide
| Tier | Player fit |
|---|---|
| S / A starters | Theft-friendly and other mild burdens |
| A / B advanced | Strong reward if you already parry well |
| Challenge | Pseudoprophecy and similar life-economy destroyers |
| Situational | Sins that only shine with specific Relics / Affixes / party cover |
Exact letter placements move when Amorian Skies retunes. After patches, re-clear one mid dungeon and believe the result—not a month-old screenshot.
Sin × Race × Affix stacking
Never stack three punishments:
- Cruel Sin
- Harmonite or Calvar early Race (Races)
- Hard Affixes
That combo farms frustration, not Fragments. Keep Affixes light while learning (Getting Started). Party play (up to five) can soften a mid-tier Sin if callers exist (Party & Co-op), but it will not save Pseudoprophecy from a single missed slam.
Sin and build crafting
Some Sins push you toward certain Skills and Relics. Build around the downside instead of ignoring it (Builds, Skills). If your Relics demand aggressive uptime your Sin forbids, drop the Relic—farm another with Dungeon Farming.
Boss and Sin pairing
Boss arenas amplify life-economy Sins. Learn patterns on Theft before you attempt prestige wipes (Bosses, Combat & Parry). Nespin unlock farms also prefer survivable Sins so Bloody Mass counts do not reset with every ego death (How to Unlock Nespin).
Sibling pages
When a Sin feels unfair, confirm you are not also failing basics—open the Guides Hub. And remember: no codes will refund a Pseudoprophecy wipe (Codes Hub).
Practical shortlist
- First characters: Theft (or equally mild).
- After Tree depth: experiment one step harsher.
- Pseudoprophecy: only with intention, potions, and completed fundamentals.
- Always re-read the Sin tooltip after alpha patches (Alpha Patch Notes).
Scoring a Sin in your own runs
After three characters on the same Sin, score it 1–5 on:
- Clarity (do you understand the downside mid-fight?)
- Recoverability (can potions and parries answer it?)
- Affix compatibility (does it explode when difficulty rises?)
- Party compatibility (do teammates create situations that trigger it?)
- Fun under pressure (are you learning or just tilting?)
Anything scoring 1–2 on recoverability does not belong on a learning account. Theft-friendly Sins usually score well early; Pseudoprophecy usually bombs recoverability on purpose.
Remake rules
Remake immediately if you picked Pseudoprophecy by accident. Remake after a patch if the tooltip severity jumped (Alpha Patch Notes). Remake when your Relic pool consistently fights the Sin rather than enabling it (Builds). Do not remake solely because a streamer used a cruel Sin for content—your Fragment bank is not their entertainment budget.
Sin advice for unlock farms
Ancient Ritual Mass farming is a consistency task. Mild Sins get you to twenty Bloody Masses; cruel Sins get you back to the hub with a story. See How to Unlock Nespin and keep Dungeon Farming life budgets in mind.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Absolvement questions.
What is the best beginner Sin in Absolvement?
Theft is a widely recommended starter. Prefer mild burdens while learning parries and dungeon routing.
Why is Pseudoprophecy bad for beginners?
It wrecks the life economy—closer to a one-life mode—so every mistake becomes a full wipe.
Can parties make cruel Sins easier?
Somewhat, up to five players can cover mistakes, but Pseudoprophecy still punishes single errors hard.
Should I change Sin after unlocking Nespin?
You can, but unlock farming is easier on a mild Sin. Remake slots deliberately rather than stacking punishments.
