Absolvement Sin Advisor

Use this Sin Advisor before character creation. It will not spit a mystical answer—it will stop you from stacking a career-ending burden during Absolvement’s Roblox alpha / early access.

Hard filters (answer yes/no)

QuestionIf yes…
Is this your first or second character ever?Prefer Theft-friendly / mild Sins only
Do you still mash roll (Q) instead of parrying (F)?Mild Sin only; practice Combat & Parry
Is your Soul Tree mostly empty?Mild Sin; invest Soul Tree first
Are you tempted by Pseudoprophecy for “challenge content”?Reject until fundamentals are done
Are you also picking Harmonite or Calvar?Do not add a harsh Sin on top (Race Advisor)
Is the party taking hard Affixes?Mild Sin or leave the party plan

Recommendation bands

Band A — Learning / farming (default)

Pick: Theft or another mild community starter.
Why: Preserves the three-life contract so each wipe teaches something.
Next: Light Affixes, readable Skills (Skills), farm loops (Dungeon Farming).

Band B — Competent clearers

Pick: Mid-tier Sins from Sins Tier List that match your Relics.
Why: You can convert downside into build identity (Builds).
Gate: Consistent mid-dungeon parries and Tree defenses.

Band C — Intentional challenge

Pick: Pseudoprophecy or similar life-economy destroyers.
Why: Only for players who accept one-mistake wipes.
Gate: Boss literacy (Bosses), potion discipline, extract rules in co-op (Party & Co-op).

Mild (Theft-friendly)Can experiment carefully
MediumKeep Affixes moderate

Quest-sensitive advice

Farming twenty Bloody Masses for Nespin belongs in Band A. Challenge Sins turn Mass farms into slot deletion events.

Decision checklist (print this)

  • I read the Sin tooltip today (alpha may have changed it)
  • I am not combining this Sin with a beginner-trap Race
  • My Affix plan matches the band above
  • My party knows my Sin
  • I know which Tree nodes cover the downside
  • I am not expecting codes to bail me out (Codes Hub)

Sibling tool

Continue with the Race Advisor, then compare letters on the Tier List Hub. Return to Tools Hub when advising friends.

Honest answers beat ego. Absolvement already supplies enough permadeath—your Sin should not supply more until you ask for it.

Worked examples

Example A: New player, empty Tree, wants “hardcore vibe.” Advisor output: Band A Theft-friendly. Hardcore vibes come from learning parries, not from Pseudoprophecy on day one.

Example B: Veteran with deep Tree, stable parries, wants a challenge week. Advisor output: Band C allowed if Affixes stay low and the party consents.

Example C: Group planning Mass farm. Advisor output: everyone Band A tonight; challenge Sins after unlock.

Write your band on a sticky note before character create. If you cannot name the band, you are not ready to click confirm.

After you pick

Open Controls, run a short farm, and only then revisit whether the Sin’s downside was educational or merely irritating. Educational → keep. Merely irritating with no build payoff → remake.

Edge cases

Dual goals: You want challenge and Masses. Do two characters—Band A farmer first, Band C challenge later. Mixing goals on one slot is how Ancient Ritual stalls.

Patch whiplash: A Sin gets retuned overnight. Re-read tooltip, re-run this advisor, and do not trust last month’s memory (Alpha Patch Notes).

Streamer FOMO: A creator clears with Pseudoprophecy for views. Your advisor still says Band A if your Tree and parry reps are weak. Content is not a build guide.

Keep the Sins Tier List open beside this page so band recommendations map onto named options without inventing fantasy Sins.

Deep dive: why Theft stays the teaching Sin

Theft raises shop pressure and gold risk without collapsing the three-life contract. That means each death can still teach a telegraph. Pseudoprophecy collapses lives toward a one-mistake story. If your wipe log shows panic rolls and missed F windows, you are not ready for life-economy destroyers—no matter what Fragment multiplier the tooltip flashes.

Stacking warnings with Race and Affixes

Open the Race Advisor in the same sitting. Harmonite or Calvar plus a harsh Sin is a classic alpha brick. Heavy Affixes on top of Pseudoprophecy is how parties of five still wipe because one player insisted on challenge mode without Tree investment. Keep Affixes near zero until Band B competence on this page’s rubric.

Fragment greed versus Fragment reality

Sins exist to raise Soul Fragment payouts on wipe. The trap is optimizing the multiplier before you can survive long enough for the multiplier to matter. A mild Sin clear that reaches deeper rooms can out-earn a Pseudoprophecy instant wipe. Spend what you earn on the Soul Tree the same day so the next slot is actually stronger.

Co-op use of this advisor

In Party & Co-op, share your band before ready-up. If four players are Band A and one is Band C, the lobby needs Affix compromise or a split. Do not let ego Sin picks silently redefine dungeon difficulty for everyone else.

Remake protocol

When you ignore the advisor and brick a slot: write one sentence about which filter you skipped, remake with Theft-friendly settings, and run a Dungeon Farming objective that targets the skill you lacked. Then re-open the Sins Tier List to pick inside Band A—not to cosplay an S-tier challenge clip.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Absolvement questions.

What Sin does the advisor recommend for beginners?

Theft-friendly / mild Sins. Reject Pseudoprophecy until you consistently parry and have Tree investment.

Can I take a hard Sin if my party is strong?

Only if you accept personal wipe risk. Parties of five help, but they cannot parry for you forever.

Should Sin change for Nespin farming?

Keep a mild Sin for Bloody Mass farming; remake into experiments after unlock if you want.

Do I still need the Sins tier list?

Yes. This advisor filters; the tier list ranks options inside each band.
