Absolvement Race Advisor
Avoid early traps, time Nespin, and match Race to how you actually move.
This Race Advisor is a checklist for Absolvement character slots. Race downsides are quiet until a crowded room arrives—then they are loud. Use it during Roblox alpha / early access before you lock Harmonite “because it looked cool.”
Hard filters
| Question | Guidance |
|---|---|
| Brand-new to Absolvement? | Avoid Harmonite and Calvar |
| Still learning parry timing? | Forgiving starter Race only |
| Prefer dash mobility and already farm well? | Consider unlocking Nespin |
| Playing mostly solo? | Bias safer Races |
| Playing in a coordinated five-stack? | Slightly riskier Races become viable |
| Combining with Pseudoprophecy? | Pick the safest Race available or remake the Sin (Sin Advisor) |
Recommendation bands
Band A — First slots
Choose forgiving creation Races that do not punish grouping mistakes. Ignore unlock flex. Confirm current mild options on Races Tier List and Getting Started.
Band B — After Tree foundation
Experiment with Races whose downsides your Soul Tree and Relics can offset. Keep Affixes honest.
Band C — Unlock specialists (Nespin)
Complete Ancient Ritual: bat statue near Soul Tree, twenty Bloody Masses from Blood / Sanguine Citadel (How to Unlock Nespin). Pick Nespin when:
- You want mobility-centric Skills (Builds, Skills)
- You accept shorter dash i-frame tradeoffs
- You can handle multi-enemy damage pressure themes
Delay Nespin if Blood Citadel still deletes you (Dungeon Farming, Combat & Parry).
Playstyle matching table
| If you play like… | Bias toward… |
|---|---|
| Patient parry duelist | Forgiving starters |
| Constant reposition caster | Nespin (once unlocked) |
| Heavy weapon commit player | Races that do not amplify commit punishment |
| Panic roller | Anything but harsh early traps |
| Co-op stabilizer | Races that survive holding angles (Party & Co-op) |
Anti-stack rules
Never combine:
- Harmonite or Calvar (early)
- Pseudoprophecy
- High Affixes
- Empty Soul Tree
That is not a build; it is a wipe schedule.
Checklist before create
- Tooltip read today (alpha drift)
- Sin already chosen and compatible
- Affix plan written
- Nespin unlock status known (unlocked vs not)
- Party informed
- Controls confirmed (F/Q/V/M) on Controls
Sibling tool
Run Sin Advisor first if undecided on both. Return to Tools Hub and compare with the Tier List Hub.
Pick the Race that matches your hands, not your screenshot folder.
Worked examples
Example A: Solo beginner who panic-rolls. Advisor: Band A forgiving Race; Harmonite/Calvar locked away; Nespin later.
Example B: Coordinated five-stack with a caller and stabilizer. Advisor: Band B experiments allowed if Sin stays mild.
Example C: Player who already farms Blood Citadel weekly. Advisor: Band C Nespin unlock on a fresh slot after Ancient Ritual turn-in.
Re-run triggers
Re-run this advisor when you unlock Nespin, when a patch changes Race tooltips, when you switch from solo to party mains, and when your wipe log shows the same downside repeatedly. Static Race loyalty is fine only if the data still supports it.
Edge cases
Controller players: Mobility Races feel different when dash and roll share awkward inputs—test in a sandbox pack before Affix greed (Controls).
Late unlock pride: You finally unlock Nespin and instantly take hard Affixes. Advisor reminder: unlock ≠ mastery. Give the Race a clean farm week first.
Tooltip vs vibe: Community “feel” posts lag patches. In-game numbers win. After maintenance, re-open this checklist and the Races Tier List together.
When both Sin and Race advisors return “keep it mild,” believe them. Absolvement will offer cruelty options forever; early accounts need reps more than aesthetics.
Deep dive: Harmonite and Calvar caution
Harmonite’s experience skew can starve Potential quality over a long run even when it feels strong early. Calvar’s regeneration restrictions punish beginners who still trade hits instead of parrying. Both can be interesting later; both are common reasons new players delete slots after two chaotic rooms. This advisor’s job is to keep them on the shelf until Combat & Parry is boring.
Nespin timing questions
Nespin is unlock-gated via Ancient Ritual and twenty Bloody Masses from Blood / Sanguine Citadel. Ask: Do you already farm that biome cleanly? Do you want dash-while-casting mobility more than raw forgiveness? Can you accept shorter dash i-frames? If not, finish Tree nodes and Mass farming literacy first (How to Unlock Nespin).
Movement style matching
If you panic-roll, pick a Race that forgives recovery mistakes. If you already weave Skills during movement, Nespin’s dash overwrite can shine in Builds. If you play heavy weapons with long recoveries, prioritize sustain and defense identities over glass mobility. Confirm defaults on Controls so Race tech is not fighting a bad bind.
Party sheltering is not a blank check
A careful five-stack can shelter a riskier Race with callouts (Party & Co-op). Solo players should bias safer. Never test Calvar for the first time on a hard Affix boss night.
After you lock a Race
Create the slot, run a short farm, and journal deaths for five runs. If the Race downside caused three of them, remake—do not double down with Pseudoprophecy. Cross-check the Races Tier List and return to the Tools Hub when advising friends.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Absolvement questions.
Which Races should I avoid at the start?
Avoid Harmonite and Calvar until you understand combat and have Soul Tree investment.
When does the advisor suggest Nespin?
After you can farm Blood Citadel cleanly and want mobility enough to accept its tradeoffs.
Can parties make trap Races okay?
Somewhat—up to five players can cover mistakes—but beginners should still pick safer Races.
Should Race or Sin come first?
Either works if you avoid stacking punishments. Many players lock a mild Sin first, then Race.
