Absolvement Races Tier List

Race choice in Absolvement rewrites how much the dungeon respects your mistakes. Buffs look exciting on the creation screen; debuffs decide whether your third life ever sees a boss. This Races Tier List is written for Roblox alpha / early access—re-verify tooltips after patches.

Beginner placement rules

Avoid early: Harmonite and Calvar. Their downside profiles punish crowded rooms, mistimed rolls, and the exact chaos new players create. Put them in a personal “unlock later” shelf until Combat & Parry feels boring.

Default early: forgiving starter Races that do not demand perfect dash cancel knowledge. Exact S-tier names shift with balance, so prioritize forgiveness over peak DPS fantasy. Use the Race Advisor checklist before locking a slot.

Unlock path: Nespin. Not a creation default. Complete Ancient Ritual—bat statue near the Soul Tree, twenty Bloody Masses from Blood / Sanguine Citadel—via How to Unlock Nespin. Place Nespin in high mobility tiers for players who already farm cleanly; place it lower for panic-rollers because shorter i-frames and multi-enemy damage pressure are real.

Tier framework (alpha)

BNeeds Tree investment or party coverGlass or condition-heavy Races
C / LaterFine after literacyHarmonite, Calvar for most beginners

Because Amorian Skies can retune numbers, treat letter grades as conversation starters. After a patch, run the same dungeon on two Races and believe your deaths.

How Race interacts with Sin and Affixes

A harsh Race plus Pseudoprophecy is how characters vanish. Pair experimental Races with Theft-friendly Sins from the Sins Tier List. Keep Affixes light until the Race downside is understood (Getting Started). Soul Tree defenses can promote a B Race into A territory (Soul Tree).

Nespin evaluation checklist

  • Do you need dash-while-casting style movement for your Skills (Skills, Builds)?
  • Can you accept shorter dash i-frames?
  • Are you farming Blood Citadel efficiently already (Dungeon Farming)?
  • Will multi-enemy damage amp punish your pull style?

If three answers are no, finish more Tree nodes first.

Party note

In parties of up to five, a riskier Race can be sheltered by callers and stabilizers (Party & Co-op). Solo players should bias safer.

Sibling tier pages

Also keep Guides Hub open when a Race demands new combat habits. Codes will not bail out a bad Race pick—there is still no redemption (Codes Hub).

Updating your personal tier list

Maintain a tiny notes file: Race, deaths to packs, deaths to bosses, potion spend. After five runs, your notes beat a static internet letter. Revisit this page when alpha patch notes mention Race passives.

Practical ranking session (30 minutes)

  1. Create two slots: one forgiving Race, one “interesting” Race you are curious about.
  2. Run the same low-Affix dungeon route twice (Dungeon Farming).
  3. Log deaths to packs versus deaths to greed.
  4. Keep the Race with fewer unfair deaths—even if its peak damage is lower.
  5. Only then schedule Ancient Ritual for Nespin if mobility is still the missing piece.

Community myths to ignore

  • “Any Race is fine if you are good” — true eventually, false for first slots.
  • “Nespin is required for endgame” — it is strong for some kits, not a universal gate.
  • “Tier lists replace tooltips” — alpha patches can rewrite passives overnight; always re-read.

Linking Race to bosses and builds

Boss arenas punish Races that hate being near multiple threats—plan pulls accordingly (Bosses). Build pages should name the Race assumption explicitly (Builds). If a guide assumes Nespin dashes and you are on a starter Race, translate the advice instead of forcing the kit.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Absolvement questions.

Which Races should beginners avoid in Absolvement?

Avoid Harmonite and Calvar early. Their downsides punish crowded mistakes and weak parry habits.

Is Nespin S-tier?

It is strong for mobile players who already farm well, but not a beginner default. Unlock it via Ancient Ritual when ready.

Do Race tiers change in alpha?

Yes. Retest after patches and confirm in-game tooltips.

Should Race or Sin be chosen first?

Many players lock a mild Sin first, then pick a Race that does not stack the same weakness. Use both advisors.
