Absolvement Controls & Keybinds

Memorize F/Q/V/M first—then tune hotbars for Skills and potions.

Absolvement Controls Guide

Absolvement’s combat language is only as good as your fingers. This controls reference locks the defaults you will see across the wiki and explains habits that make those binds trustworthy in Roblox alpha / early access.

Core defaults

ActionDefaultNotes
ParryFLate timing beats early mashing
Roll / evadeQReposition and panic escape
ConsumablesVHold/use potions and items
MapMRead rooms before pulling

These four appear everywhere: Getting Started, Combat & Parry, Dungeon Farming, and Bosses. If you remapped them, translate mentally whenever a guide says F/Q/V/M.

Hotbar and Skills

Skills and potions live on the hotbar. Assign:

  1. Highest-value safety Skill on your most reachable key
  2. Primary damage Skill next
  3. Potions where V muscle memory expects them
  4. Situational tools farther out

Clutter causes free deaths. Prune using the role logic on the Skills Tier List.

Camera, movement, and Race quirks

Keep the camera high enough to see wind-ups. Mobility Races such as Nespin may replace or overwrite roll behavior with dashes—practice in trash before bosses so Q-muscle-memory does not betray you.

Controller and console notes

Absolvement lists controller support in its Roblox presentation. If you play on controller:

  • Confirm which face button is parry versus roll in your current build
  • Test consumable holds before a serious Affix run
  • Agree callouts with keyboard teammates so “press F” becomes “parry now”

Party alignment details sit on Party & Co-op.

Settings hygiene after patches

Alpha patches can reset or add binds. After updates:

  1. Open settings and photograph your map
  2. Rehearse one pack with intentional parries
  3. Skim Alpha Patch Notes

Common “skill issue” that is actually binds

  • Parry on the wrong key after a shared PC session
  • Consumables unbound while learning a boss
  • Map unused, leading to triple pulls
  • Roll spam because parry was never rebound after a layout change

Sibling players page

Read Party & Co-op next, then return to the Players Hub. For loadout binds tied to Relics and Potentials, continue into Builds. Soul Tree progress will not fix a misbound parry key—but it will make correctly bound runs safer (Soul Tree).

Scripts that “auto press F” exist on the Scripts Hub with ToS / ban-risk disclaimers; they are not a controls tutorial.

Master F, Q, V, and M until they are boring. Absolvement starts respecting you right after that.

Practice drill (ten minutes)

Enter a low-Affix dungeon alone. For the first five packs, you may only defend with F parries—rolls (Q) are illegal unless you visibly miss. For the next five packs, allow one roll per pack. Drink with V only when you would otherwise spend a life. Open M before every multi-door room. This drill burns the defaults into memory faster than reading charts.

Sharing binds with a party

Before ready-up, each player states: “Parry on X, roll on Y.” Keyboard and controller players must translate callouts (“parry” not “press F”) so nobody eats a slam while hunting a key. Details for group culture sit on Party & Co-op.

Accessibility and comfort

If F/Q feel awkward, remap early—then update your personal notes so wiki defaults still make sense. Do not remap every session. Consistency beats aesthetics when telegraphs are short.

When scripts promise to press F for you

Auto-parry tooling is catalogued under Auto Parry / Farm with ban-risk warnings. It is the opposite of controls mastery. If your goal is improvement, this page plus Combat & Parry is the real path.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common Absolvement questions.

What is the Absolvement parry key?

F by default. Roll is Q, consumables are V, and map is M.

Can I play Absolvement on controller?

Controller support is part of the game’s Roblox feature set—verify your exact face-button layout in settings.

Why do guides keep repeating F and Q?

Because those defaults define combat literacy. If you remapped, translate every guide mention.

Should I use auto-parry instead of learning binds?

No. Auto tools risk bans and skip the skill the game is built around.
